Kotlin has been gaining more and more popularity. As a JVM language it is fairly easy to learn and more enjoyable to work with than Java. Given it's extensive feature set, it still compiles to Java 6 bytecode which means it's a great tool for Android developers in addition to enterprise Java developers.
