In this conference, we welcome architect and visionary Hanna Johansson. Johansson will explore the theme of "Sustainable Spaces" focusing on the integration of city life, urban neighborhoods, cultural connections, and the harmony of landscape and architecture. Hanna Johansson joined BIG Copenhagen in 2008 and, in 2019, relocated to establish BIG Architects in Barcelona. As a Partner at BIG, she has played a key role in shaping some of the firm’s prominent projects, among others the award-winning Biosphere, a hospitality experience in northern Sweden, Copenhagen Harbour Bath, and Tirpitz Museum. Hanna’s approach to architecture is rooted in a holistic thinking, integrating community, culture, economy, and sustainability into her work. Her diverse expertise spans scales and programs, from interiors and architecture to master planning, encompassing residential developments, hospitality, office campuses, educational facilities, and cultural institutions. Her sharp eye for crafting high-quality architectural concepts has been instrumental in securing numerous competition wins, including Tallinn Town Hall, Fuse Valley & Farfetch headquarters, the Gastronomy Open Ecosystem in San Sebastián, and the European Commission’s Joint Research Center in Sevilla. Currently, Hanna is overseeing the construction of the Ellinikón Park Rise, a residential development in Athens, Greece.
