The guest of our conference is Mark Davy, founder of Futurecity. During the conference, he will highlight the critical role of culture in unlocking the potential of city spaces. 'Placemaking and Smart Cities' explores the synergy between cultural integration and smart city technologies, offering innovative strategies to create vibrant, responsive public spaces. Davy will discuss the importance of integrating art and culture from the outset of projects, encouraging collaboration with artists among architects, engineers, landscape designers, developers, and city planners.

Mark Davy is the Founder of Futurecity, a placemaking agency that develops cultural and public art strategies across both public and private sectors. His work utilizes arts and culture to shape narratives for the development and regeneration of municipalities. Davy is a dedicated leader driven by his commitment to cultural excellence in urban environments. His extensive commercial and intellectual expertise positions him as a leading voice in discussions about the evolving role and purpose of modern cities. Davy holds the title of Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and serves on various advisory and trustee roles, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Advisory Panel, Hypha Studios Trustee, Executive Director for the Land Economic Society, and Member of the NLA Expert Panel for Culture and National Trust Regional Advisory Group.
