It happens to the best of us... 'the bad game'. Sometimes you just fall short. Can't make a bucket. Can't defend anyone. Kept getting lost out there. Turned the ball over much more than usual. The list goes on and on when it comes to what defines a bad game. Rather you are on one of our Playmaker teams or not, we want you to learn how to effectively handle a bad game.
We've created a video series, called M.A.D.E. Tough, to help you through the rough times, like after the worst game ever. M.A.D.E Tough is a series of talks to you as the player. Not for Mom or Dad, but for you. Though they’re welcome to listen, these talks are made for you, the student-athlete out there on the floor. How strong you are mentally is far more important than how gifted you are physically. This is true in all sports. When your mindset isn’t in the right place, you can’t unleash all the greatness that lies within you. Having all the physical tools means nothing when you don’t believe in yourself. Being able to shoot the tre ball from anywhere on the floor in practice but freezing up in the game is all mental. No player is born mentally tough, they are M.A.D.E Tough.
Below, you'll see one video of a complete series on the topic of handling a bad game.
