Hi everyone,

Our September meetup is currently set for Monday, September 25th at 5:30pm. We'll be at Fellow Co-Working once again.

As usual, we'll have lots of food and drinks (beer and soda) and will take the first 30-45 minutes to let people arrive, eat, and socialize. We'll then move on to any talks that have been scheduled.

We still need presenters! If you're interested in giving a talk, please let me know.

Updates:

• First, I wanted to thank Gordon and Franco again for giving two great presentations last meetup.

• Gordon showed us how to wire up an Alexa skill with AWS Lambda functions using python (and Go...)

• Franco gave us an intro into Async Python programming, how to implement using the new standard libs in Python 3, and analogized parallelism and async so well that I've already stolen it.

• New Slack channel

• We now have a Slack channel. It's pretty quiet, but I'm hoping it will be a convenient place to share information, tips, etc or allow people to ask questions/seek help.

This month's working agenda:

We currently have no set agenda for this meetup. I will send out updates as this changes.

If you are interested in giving a presentation/talk, or have an idea/topic you'd like to see covered, please let me know.

Call for Contributions:

I'm hoping to get one new presenter to give a talk on a topic that interests you. It's nothing formal, anything from as little as 5 minutes or up to 30 minutes on something you find interesting, a bug or implementation you found problematic, or even showing what/how you use python. It can be anywhere on the technical level.

If you can present, please send a message to the group or shoot me a DM.

Hope to see you all there!

-Steve
