Lisbon |> Elixir 15th Edition
Hey there fellow Sippers! We're back with another edition of the meetup, hosted by Volkswagen Digital Solutions. In this edition we'll have the following talks:

• Talk #1: Mutation Testing in Elixir
Speaker: Daniel Serrano – Software Engineer @ Onfido

Mutation testing is a technique whereby you test the quality of your tests. Elixir is a language providing great tools for AST manipulation. Mutation testing in Elixir can be a match made in heaven. But is it? I'll try and cover some topics needed to understand how one can go about developing a mutation testing library in Elixir, and how I made my proof-of-concept mutation testing library: exavier. Join me in mutating code and failing tests for fun and zero profit!

• Talk #2: Distributed Elixir frameworks in 2019
Speaker: Andy Gonçalves – Software Engineer @ Talkdesk

With the rise of deployments on cloud infrastructures, applications that want to scale and be reliable have to deal with multi-node environments whose topologies are subject to change. While elixir doesn't have a built-in way to automatically deal with things like clustering, process registration and/or distribution, there are a few libraries in the ecosystem that help with those problems.

This talk is going to cover what frameworks you can use, how, and when, to enable your application to scale horizontally while remaining available.

Here's the schedule for the event:

• 6:30PM - 7:00PM – Registration
• 7:00PM - 7:45PM – Talk #1
• 7:45PM - 8:00PM – Mingle
• 8:00PM - 8:45PM – Talk #2

Take the opportunity to mingle, network and share experiences! Last but not least, please keep submitting your talks for future editions of this meetup! Add a line to the spreadsheet available at http://bit.ly/lisbon-elixir or send us a message through Gitter (https://gitter.im/lisbon-elixir/community).

There are no comments. Be the first one!
