The Internet of Things (IoT) offers exciting possibilities to those willing to navigate the buzzword boulders. From tracking the health of loved ones to optimising energy use in a building, the opportunities are endless.

This month at the Blast Furnace Newie Ventures will introduce anyone, with no prior knowledge, to the potential offered by the IoT. All participants will have the opportunity to build their own IoT sensor, program it and connect it, via a low power network, to a dashboard visualisation.

For those interested in the coding comps we will run 6 competitions and give you plenty of opportunity to accrue points for the blast furnace leader board. Make sure you have your CYFERLINX account setup to get the points!

It's a BYOC (bring your own computer) event. We will provide power, WiFi and Pizza!
