Hi everyone,
mark your calendars for June 12th. This time we host a presentation on black holes.
===
ABSTRACT, supplied by the speaker:
Black holes are fascinating objects. Their existence is almost a certainty, but black holes stretch to the limit our current theories to describe the Universe and their presence implies serious paradoxes: If a black hole swallows everything surrounding it but nothing can escape from it, where is the information going that fell into the black hole?
===
ABOUT the speaker:
Ana Alonso Serrano is a postdoctoral researcher at Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics in Potsdam. She did her PhD in CSIC in Madrid, then moved to a postdoctoral position in Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand) and later on to Charles University of Prague (Czech Republic). She has also been involved in outreach activities, giving talks, magazine articles, TV collaborations, etc.
She is part of the organization of the Soapbox Science event in Berlin on June 22nd. (I may post an event on that)

As always, feel free to prepare and ask questions. It would be also nice to donate 2€ to the space (price for a drink), as we are getting it for free.
Doors open at 7:15pm.
Thanks and see you there!
