Dear all,
we meet again at the Archenhold observatory, this time to observe with the large telescope, the 'great Treptow refractor', built in 1896, a 68cm refractor telescope with a length of about 21 meters: www.sdtb.de/Das-Treptower-Riesenfernrohr.370.0.html
This is an official event from the observatory, with the theme for the night being the Moon.
On Dec. 9th, the Moon will be just past first-quarter in the early waxing gibbous phase. This means the 'right-part' is illuminated, with the sun's rays falling at an angle for most of the surface as seen from Earth, casting nice shadows.
We hope for a clear sky:)
Ioannis.
