Getting to know the East end

Wrap up well it maybe cold.

Today we will be exploring the East End.

what was a small hamlet of quiet little villages suddenly and dramatically changed in the victorian period.

See where Dr Barnardo worked, visit Jewish graveyard, see a workhouse , The Peoples' Palace and trace the history of the East end.

We will see the hidden cottages, homes of the rich and wealthy. We view the remains of the Jewish community who have now fled being replaced by Indian communities, 100 synagogues replaced by mosques, view the remains of breweries under the Charrington name who owned 40 breweries, we will see many fine houses, see where William Booth preached. - Salvation Army.

We will finish in a coffee house or pub.
