In 2018 we worked through Hands on Machine Learning. This time we're tackling a different subject in Software; we're tackling domain complexity.
Join us as we work through our next book. In order to participate you will need to purchase the book (Domain-Driven Design: Tackling Complexity in the Heart of Software by Eric Evans).
Format:
We will work out the schedule after the first meeting with plans to meet weekly and discuss the previous chapter.
One person will volunteer each week to provide a summary, while everyone contributes one to three takeaways, an anecdote relevant to the material covered, and possible sentence highlights.
As always come join us on slack.
This is truly inspiring! Your passion and commitment to your craft are evident, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next https://retrobowl-online.io
This sounds like a great initiative! I'm interested in joining the book club. I've been trying to wrap my head around some complex system architectures lately and I'm hoping this will give me some practical tools. It seems like a deeper understanding of domain modeling could really help, especially when dealing with systems that feel like they're stuck in a sprunki phase of development. https://sprunkiphasemod.com/
This event looks like it will be very interesting and useful for the programming community solar smash! I look forward to participating to learn more experiences and connect with like-minded people. Good luck with the discussions!
Sounds like an interesting book club! Managing complexity is definitely a key skill. It reminds me of some of the design challenges I've faced while trying to optimize seemingly simple systems, like figuring out the best way to automate repetitive tasks. You wouldn't think something like a chicken jockey clicker game would require much thought, but even that has complexities when you start scaling it up. Good luck with the discussions! https://chicken-jockey-clicker.com/
