Hi everyone,
Summer is flying by! I hope you all have enjoyed the heat and some vacation time away from work/school.
Our August meetup is currently set for Monday, August 7th at 5:30pm. We'll be at Fellow Co-Working once again.
As usual, we'll have lots of food and drinks (beer and soda) and will take the first 30-45 minutes to let people arrive, eat, and socialize. We'll then move on to any talks that have been scheduled.
This month's working agenda:
Note: If there's a topic that you'd like to hear about, please message me and I'll see what we can put together for our next meetup.
• Building Alexa Skills w/ AWS Lambda:
- Review how to build simple Alexa skills in AWS lambda using a webservice in Python/Flask and a comparison to using Golang/Goji.io - by Gordon
• Async programming in Python:
- An introduction and overview of using standard lib and 3rd-party async libraries - by Franco Gasperino
• <Insert your talk here>
- Want to give a presentation? It can be as short as 5 min, or as long as 30 min and on any topic you wish.
Call for Contributions:
I'm hoping to get one new presenter to give a talk on a topic that interests you. It's nothing formal, anything from as little as 5 minutes or up to 30 minutes on something you find interesting, a bug or implementation you found problematic, or even showing what/how you use python. It can be anywhere on the technical level.
If you can present, please send a message to the group or shoot me a DM.
Hope to see you all there!
-Steve
