February Python Meetup
About

Hi All,

It is time to schedule our next monthly meetup, which is currently planned for the first Monday in February.

Like last month, we'll have some lots of snacks and drinks and take the first 30-45 minutes to let people arrive, eat, and socialize. We'll then move on to any talks that have been scheduled.

Call for Contributions:

Last meeting, we had two great presentations from Phil and Reed. Phil gave us an introduction to Python's Multiprocessing library (which I've since used in my own project). Reed gave an introduction to graph databases and gave a great demo of Neo4j. He was even brave enough to give a live demo!

I'm hoping to get one new presenter to give a talk on a topic that interests you. It's nothing too formal, just a 10-30 minute talk on something you find interesting, a bug or implementation you found problematic, or even showing what/how you use python. It can be anywhere on the technical level.

If you can present, please send a message to the group or shoot me a DM.

Current Agenda:

• Redislite - Lazy loading HTML fragments in Django templates using Lazysizes - by Dan Gayle

Serverless programming with AWS Lambda - We'll look at how you can deploy and run your python code without worrying about provisioning servers/resources - by Steve Byerly

Hope to see you all there!

-Steve
