Our next Python meetup will be hosted by JetBrains on 15th of May.
The plan:
18:30 Doors open, snacks, drinks
19:00 Siddhant Goel: "Personal finances with Python, one year later"
Keeping track of finances is something everyone does or at least should be doing. At the end of the day, you'll have a better idea of where your money is coming from and going. There are proprietary tools available to do that, but I'll instead talk about a model that suits software developers a little bit better. This is a tool that I used over a year now and will be happy to share my experience from a long-term perspective.
This talk will introduce the concept of plain text accounting and double entry book-keeping. We'll then talk about how to implement such a flow using Beancount, which provides an entire suite of tools written in Python to help you manage your financial life from plain text files.
19:40 Raffle of 2 free PyConWeb tickets!
19:50 Nikolai Kordula: "The most flexible GraphQL library for Python"
There are many implementations of GraphQL for Python, but this is the first one that fully covers GraphQL specification, aiming for speed and flexibility. First, we will do an introduction of the GraphQL API concept in general, then present the library from the user's point of you, and finally go under-the-hood to get into interesting implementation details.
