The School of Life: An Emotional Education
About

The School of Life: An Emotional Education

Alain de Botton

We spend years in school learning facts and figures but the one thing we're never taught is how to live a fulfilled life.
This is a book about everything you were never taught at school. It's about how to understand your emotions, find and sustain love, succeed in your career, fail well and overcome shame and guilt.

It's also about letting go of the myth of a perfect life in order to achieve genuine emotional maturity.

This book brings together ten years of essential and transformative research on emotional intelligence, with practical topics including:

- how to understand yourself
- how to master the dilemmas of relationships
- how to become more effective at work
- how to endure failure
- how to grow more serene and resilient

Where to meet
We will be meeting at Kingston Library, Fairfield Rd, KT1 2PS

Time

Please arrive at 18:25 for a 18:30 start sharp, so we can squeeze the most discussion out of the session :)

We will wrap up around 19:50 as the library needs us out by 20:00.

There will then be an option to go for a drink at a nearby pub if anyone is interested.

As always please feel free to contact me with any questions etc, or post on the group wall.
