Do you have the post-conference blues after attending the 2026 Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) conference in National Harbor? Or FOMO from being unable to make it? Either way, fear not! We're keeping the momentum going with a summer IRE meetup at the Pen & Pencil Club. This will be a casual happy hour and a great opportunity to mingle with friends and colleagues interested in investigative journalism. You do not have to be a member of IRE or the Pen & Pencil Club to attend.

The Pen & Pencil Club is located at 1522 Latimer St, Philadelphia, a short walk from all the major SEPTA lines. For those driving in, there are limited street parking spots and several garages nearby, including at least two on the block. The event will run from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, and there will be a cash bar. It is free to attend, but we ask that you please register on this page.

Learn about how to become an IRE Member here: https://www.ire.org/join-ire/

For additional questions, please contact Juliette Rihl ([email protected]) or Joe Yerardi ([email protected]).

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Best,
