While most presentations on DevOps center around new tools or techniques, this one touches the other fields that lie at its boundaries. DevOps is all about cooperation and in this presentation, I touch upon:
- Lean principles like discovering customer value and mapping the value stream,
- Systems Thinking where you explore the environment in which your project functions,
- Visualisation techniques for current and future processes, practices and methods,
- The usage of mental models and cognitive psychology and
architectural practices in distributed teams
It are interesting things for you, your team and your customer. You should know them when working as a DevOps engineer because they help you in making a project successful.

Marc is graduated as an engineer in electricity with a specialisation in electronics. He started working in an electronics company but slowly grew into computers and IT.
For years, Marc has been working as a developer, tester or done infrastructure support. I've always supported open source and liked GNU. This has lead him more than often away from the mainstream: He started using Linux back in 1994 for example. It's also how he got interested in DevOps very early on. It resonated with his way of working and thinking. For over 13 years, he is been interested and working in that domain now.
In his free time, he is an avid reader, woodworker and motorcyclist. He likes free beers, travel and getting together with friends.
