February Ankara: Data Partitioning on AWS and Generative AI

We continue learning together with great talks from industry experts!

Erdem Çulcu(https://www.linkedin.com/in/erdemculcu/), Software Engineering Manager at MobileAction, is our first speaker.

Title: Partitioning Challenge on AWS with S3, Glue, and Athena

Abstract: Optimizing query capabilities is important when using data warehouses and data lakes like S3 instead of RDBMS. Partitions are used like indexes in RDBMS to fast seek and reach data. In S3, folders can be used as Partitions to group our data into physical entities. However, in Glue Data Catalog or Hive Metastore, partitions are used as logical entities with metadata properties. In AWS, when using partitions there are limits for Athena, Glue, or Kinesis Firehose. We will talk about these challenges and solutions.

Our second speaker is Cem Küçük(https://www.linkedin.com/in/cemkuck/), Software Engineer at Resmo.

Title: Utilizing Amazon Bedrock Generative AI to Develop an On-Demand Meal Ordering Agent

Abstract: In our session, we will explore the use of Amazon Bedrock's generative AI service to build a simple yet powerful on-demand meal ordering agent. We'll discuss the key features of the service and walk through a live demonstration, showing you how to develop and deploy an AI agent that can efficiently handle meal orders, highlighting the practical benefits of using Amazon Bedrock in real-world applications.
