My name's Lisa Mitchell. I started my automotive career by dating a gearhead. I started modding my personal car because I liked what he and his brother did to theirs. I realized though, after a hefty mechanic's bill, that function is more important than form. I wanted to understand what I was paying for and avoid getting ripped off!
Later on I was hired at Autozone (and dealerships, and shops) and really enjoyed learning about, helping people with and discussing everything vehicular. And a common theme emerged: MANY people who felt the same way I had! I'd hear the same things every day:
"I don't know the first thing about cars. Wish I knew more."
"How do I know the mechanic's not lying to me?"
"How do you know so much about cars?"
"A man should know how to ______."
"I don't know how to do any of this stuff, being a woman and all."
....Those last 2 always got to me. No one pops out of the womb with grease under their nails. You only know what you LEARN. However, not everyone wants to take an entire ASE certification course; THIS class is for those people!
Each class will focus on a different topic and review GENERAL information about it. I teach the basics in a straightforward, easy-to-understand way without condescension. Come to 1, come to 12, skip around, whatever works. It's not a course, just a class.
Bring the car you want to learn about and we'll go over the topic of the day, practice some tasks, discuss vehicular specifics, and close with Q & A. I want classes to be affordable, but do PLEASE READ THE FAQs & RULES before paying for anything!
