In this conference, we welcome architect and visionary Ángel Barreno Gutiérrez from BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group). Ángel Barreno Gutiérrez is an accomplished architect and Associate at BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group), currently based in their Barcelona office. He holds a Ph.D. in Architecture "Cum Laude" from the University of Seville and has an extensive background collaborating with prestigious international architecture firms, including Foster+Partners in the United Kingdom, Sou Fujimoto Architects in Japan, and Morales de Giles Arquitectos in Spain. Ángel has contributed to a wide range of high-profile projects, blending innovation and sustainability. Notably, he serves as the Project Manager and Technical Representative for the Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Seville, a landmark building for the European Commission. The project stands out as the first to align with the principles of the New European Bauhaus initiative, reflecting a harmonious balance between beauty, sustainability, and functionality. Beyond his practice, Ángel is deeply engaged in academia and thought leadership. He has been a guest lecturer and speaker at several international universities and architectural conferences, sharing his insights on architecture's evolving role in addressing global challenges.
