In this talk, Rommel will share with us the organizational changes that you need to take to deploy and build micro services on a public cloud platform. While so much talk has been on what tools and frameworks to use, this talk is about the process! Process is value. He will share with us how he managed to deploy a bank to meet regulatory compliance while still maintaining the zen of DevOps and Agile practices. Banks dont need to be boring, they can also be sexy! 

Rommel Tinoco

Rommel Tinoco [1] has been in IT for over 15 years. He has a diverse background, beginning his career with the US Department of Defense to running and scaling busy websites such as Groupon. He has worked on evolving the awareness in the Turkish market by helping to launch DevOps Turkey with the aid of other geeks. Rommel also co-founded Kloia, where he consulted for many companies in Turkey. At Kloia, he undertook many projects, one of which was to train and equip the n11 Development teams on Cloud and DevOps practices. Rommel left that and moved on to work for a start up, that now is undergoing bank license authorization. In this last role, Rommel has hired a group of 4 software developers and molded them to be proficient and professional DevOps Engineers to build, scale and deploy a complete bank running in microservices on the AWS Public Cloud! 

When he is not in front of a computer, Rommel enjoys long walk to the fridge. Rommel is not a vegetarian.
