ReactDevsKe Workshops — React Native Multiplatform: TV, Web & Mobile

About

Building for multiple platforms doesn't have to mean building multiple applications.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to build a multiplatform React Native application that powers multiple TV operating systems, the web, and is architected to seamlessly extend to mobile—all from a shared codebase.

Using a modern React Native monorepo, we'll explore how to structure projects for maximum code reuse while still supporting platform-specific experiences where they matter. You'll learn how to share UI components, business logic, navigation patterns, and common libraries without compromising performance or developer experience.

Rather than focusing solely on theory, we'll build a real-world application from the ground up, discussing the architectural decisions that enable teams to ship features across platforms faster while keeping their codebase clean, scalable, and maintainable.

Whether you're building the next generation of Smart TV experiences, expanding an existing React Native application to the web, or planning a future mobile release, this workshop will equip you with practical patterns you can immediately apply to production projects.

What you'll learn

  • Architecting a React Native application for TV, Web, and Mobile
  • Setting up a scalable React Native monorepo
  • Sharing components, hooks, business logic, and utilities across platforms
  • Supporting multiple TV operating systems with platform-specific implementations
  • Extending a TV-first application to the web and mobile
  • Managing navigation and platform differences cleanly
  • Organizing a maintainable project structure for long-term growth
  • Performance considerations across TV, web, and mobile platforms
  • Testing and debugging in a multiplatform environment
  • Best practices for scaling cross-platform React Native applications

Who should attend?

This workshop is ideal for:

  • React developers looking to expand into React Native
  • React Native developers looking to build beyond mobile
  • Frontend engineers interested in scalable architecture and Smart TV development
  • Technical leads evaluating cross-platform architectures
  • Developers curious about monorepos and code sharing strategies

Prerequisites

Participants should have:

  • Working knowledge of JavaScript and React
  • Basic familiarity with React Native concepts
  • Node.js installed on their machine
  • A code editor such as VS Code
  • Git installed
  • A laptop capable of running local development environments

Prior experience with monorepos is not required.

Workshop Format

This is a practical, code-first workshop with live demonstrations and guided exercises. You'll follow along as the instructor builds a production-ready monorepo, explains architectural decisions, and demonstrates techniques for sharing code across mobile, web, and TV applications.

There will also be opportunities for questions, discussion, and troubleshooting throughout the session.

Takeaways

By the end of this workshop, you'll have:

  • A production-ready React Native monorepo starter
  • A clear architecture for building applications that target TV, Web, and Mobile
  • Practical strategies for maximizing code reuse while handling platform-specific requirements
  • A deeper understanding of scalable multiplatform React Native development
  • Patterns you can immediately apply to your own cross-platform products

Whether you're building your next side project or designing software at enterprise scale, this workshop will equip you with the knowledge and patterns needed to create efficient, maintainable, and future-ready React Native applications.
