It's never an easy decision to shift careers, but in a slowing economy, you might want to look for growth industries like tech if you want to build a sustainable career for yourself.


 

It's a mental journey to overcome the fear and pressure of starting over, but once you've come to terms with your choice, you'll need to learn some new skills. But where to start, what to focus on, and what is actually the right career for you in tech?


 

Hiba Machfej has gone through it all. After studying architecture at Yarmouk University in Damaskus, she worked as an architect before she decided to start her journey to become a frontend developer. Hiba Machfej is a frontend developer with experience in JavaScript frameworks. Before joining a Re:Coded bootcamp, she studied architecture at Yarmouk University in Damaskus and worked as an architect for 4 years. Hiba is passionate about technology, design, and societies. She’s pursuing a Ph.D. in Urban Design and Planning and she believes developing apps can help people improve their cities.
