PHPAmersfoort November Meetup

About

For our fourth meetup we'll travel into the forests. Right beside the A28 highway, Dutch Open Projects has their offices in a beautiful mansion. In this inspiring location, we will be hearing from Dutch Open Projects-employee Maurits Lawende about big data and cassandra.

Schedule:

19:00 - Coffee, tea and welcome
19:30 - Opening
19:45 - Maurits Lawende - Integrating Cassandra into your project
20:45 - Social interaction!
~22:00 - End of meeting

Note: Due to the location, we have a maximum of 25 attendees! If you want to be sure to get a spot, please RSVP soon. Additionally, if you can't make it after all, make sure to update your RSVP so someone else can take your spot.

Integrating Cassandra into your project
In the PHP world, we quickly get familiar with MySQL, but the disadvantages become clear. Nowadays we hear a lot about NoSQL. In this session we learn about the internals, advantages and disadvantages of Cassandra. During the presentation we will see what it takes to design a distributed database, how an application can scale to hundreds of servers and why we choose Cassandra.
