• Talk #2: Enhancing API Security with Elixir: A Case Study from Helvetia Insurance

In this presentation, we've set out to explore the innovative use of Elixir within the Helvetia API platform, home to approximately 500 internal and external HTTP APIs deployed on AWS API Gateway.
We delve into several limitations of AWS's built-in API Gateway product that led us to architect a custom proxy server using Elixir deployed between AWS API Gateway and the upstream API backends. The HTTP proxy server enhances API security by enforcing request and response validations on all API traffic entering and leaving the Helvetia API platform.
This server stands as a testament to the diverse and dynamic capabilities of Elixir within a real-world, corporate context.
