Hey there fellow Sippers! We're very excited to be back with another edition 🚀 We'd like to thank Bounce for hosting and sponsoring this edition 🤗
CodeSync has been very generous in providing a couple of Virtual Tickets for the upcoming ElixirConf EU, which we will raffle during the meet-up! So if you'd like to attend this conference for free, join us and enter in the raffle!
• Talk #1: Winning with Elixir: How Bounce Utilizes the Power of Elixir to Stay Ahead in a Competitive Market
Speaker: David Elias – Software Engineer @ Bounce
In this talk, we will discover how Bounce applies the Extended Context Framework with Elixir to move fast and stay ahead in a competitive market. We will discover how this approach has allowed us to leverage some of the best advantages of several well-known engineering architectural practices (such as Domain Driven Design, CQRS, Event-sourcing, and Microservices) without the burden of their inherent complexity.
• Talk #2: Doomguy visits the BEAM
Speaker: André Albuquerque – Staff Backend Engineer @ Remote
Let's observe how process supervision works as if we were inside the BEAM! The BEAM provides the amazing process-spawning capabilities that come from the very early days of Erlang. Elixir provides a minimal API over the powerful supervisor abstraction, but all that power comes from Erlang. We'll talk about the different supervision strategies available, learn a bit about them and then connect the BEAM to a running Doom game. In the end we will ask Doomguy's help to control some misbehaving BEAM processes.
Here's the schedule for the event:
• 6:30PM - 7:15PM – Welcome & Registration
• 7:15PM - 7:45PM – Talk #1
• 7:45PM - 8:00PM – Mingle
• 8:00PM - 8:30PM – Talk #2
We will do our best to make all of our events hybrid. We will meet in-person but if you'd like attend remotely we will broadcast the event via Zoom. We'll post the details as a comment on this page closer to the event date.
Take the opportunity to mingle, network and share experiences! Last but not least, please keep submitting your talks for future editions of this meetup! Send us a message via the meet-up platform or open an issue on this repo.
