• Talk #1: PowerUp the BEAM with Kubernetes and Riak Core
Speaker: Ricardo Oliveira – Tech Lead at Talkdesk

Talkdesk had the mission of building a highly available and fault-tolerant system that could scale. They built a system that runs in-memory to maintain low response times and built it in a way to keep the operational costs low and with the capability of auto-scaling. Ricardo will tell a story about the journey of how they built a critical system using Elixir by merging the power of BEAM with proven and emergent technologies like Riak and Kubernetes.

• Talk #2: Introducing Elixir at Onfido – A Tale of Two Projects
Speaker: Paulo A. Pereira – Engineering Director at Onfido

In this talk Paulo will walk us through the first two Elixir projects at Onfido and share the story on how it became adopted by the engineering team. Be warned: There will be some old code involved.
