In case you missed it, here was my "Bye-Bye Meetup" letter from December 20, 2024:Dear Wine Enthusiasts,After 17 wonderful years, I’m reaching out with some bittersweet news. Our Lake County Wine Meetup Group has been a fantastic way to bring people together over our shared love of wine, but Meetup has recently doubled their pricing to nearly $400 per year just to maintain a single group. Unfortunately, as this group has always been a labor of love and not a business, it’s no longer feasible for me to keep it running on this platform. But don’t worry—this is not the end!I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve created a new home for our group on kommunity.com, where we can continue our wine tastings, classes, and events without the added financial burden. Joining is completely FREE, and it’s a fantastic platform to stay connected, share ideas, and keep the fun alive. This group has never been about profit—I’ve always run it purely for the joy of bringing people together and fostering a community around great wine. Over the years, I’ve personally covered the costs because seeing the group thrive has always been worth it. But with this price hike, I hope you’ll join me in moving to Kommunity, where we can continue to grow and create more unforgettable memories together.By moving to Kommunity, we can continue to host exciting events, exclusive tastings, and engaging classes—all in the spirit of fun and camaraderie. Let’s keep this wonderful group going strong, even if it’s under a new banner.Join us on Kommunity - https://kommunity.com/lakecountywineThank you for 17 incredible years. I hope to see you all on Kommunity, ready to raise a glass to our next chapter!Cheers,SergioP.S. If you have any questions about the transition, don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s keep the wine flowing!
