For the foodie in all of us!
The city has so much to offer and so much to explore. Come join us in exploring the different restaurants and cuisines the city has to offer.
We are planning to make this a regular meetup. Friday's at 7pm!
Hello my foodie followers, this week i will take you to a food court. Do not under estimate this resto due to the it's location. One of my faves! They have the ultimate homemade salsa! You should watch Shim's(owner) story. Please click on the link below. It is very inspiring.
** i could not find the original interview video for shim. Basically he was a doctor back in his hometown, I think it was Taiwan. He came here and the laws were different. He was put on a waiting list so he could study to practice here. However, the waitlist was very long. While he was waiting he took a course in Aviation Mechanics and worked as a mechanic for several years. His wife owned Taco Luis and when she became pregnant they needed to figure out what to do. So Shim quit his job as an aviation mechanic to help out his pregnant wife. With a few changes to the menu and his fantastic personality, his business boomed. Even after his wife gave birth, he continued to work at Taco Luis and ended up opening a second location in Oakridge Mall. (to sum it up). I still included a recent video I found from Nov 2011 below.
After i get my craving fix and share the taste of Taco Luis, we can either sit in the food court and talk or go to bubble tea after. We can decide there. Please note that I wanted to keep it simple because some of the group members will be leaving at 3am for trip to Portland. (We still have room for 2 more if anyone is interested).
See you there!
