About
Start the Victoria Day long weekend, Friday evening with bubble tea, games and a discussion about life in China, at Sunflower Bubble Tea beside Joyce Skytrain Station.
****Discussion***
China today is much different than in past years, certainty the idea that North American's have of China is decades old. I've been going back and forth between Vancouver and (all over) China for the past 3+ years and can share my thoughts about a few aspects of China, particularly through the experience of the middle class young adult living in a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd tier city, including:
a) Culture and living - it's very different from Canada, food is great and price of goods and services ranges depending on where you go. The motivations and work ethic of most middle class people is quite different.
b) Dating - they take dating seriously and it's also very different, with tradition sometimes influencing one's dating situation.
---For Vancouver guys, there are lots of beautiful, smart, capable women in China, very good candidates to consider for dating and relationships, and they want to meet you, Western guys.
---For Vancouver women, there are also lots of guys in China, but to find 'the best' guys may mean you go to certain cities in certain industries. This topic would be a little complicated to discuss, but could be interesting.
And if you are thinking they just want your Canadian passport, actually the people there don't want to leave China, their life is already good there. They just have a really hard time finding 'the right one' if they haven't gotten married by age 26 or so.
c) Business - in China is crazy. There is so much going on, so much opportunity. From trade (import/export), services, education. One can truly get rich in China in one year, whereas one can work in Vancouver and be in the same place after 5 years.
