If you have never heard of TED Talks, here's one of my favourite TED talks:

This is not like going to some amateurs comedy club, most people are experts in their own fields with cool ideas to share.

TEDx is coming to Vancouver's Renfrew Collingwood neighbourhood this October 25th. Come and join a crowd of 250 like minded forward thinking intellectuals who are passionate about finding out the latest things in the areas of TECHNOLOGY, ENTERTAINMENT and DESIGN (Definition of TED). TEDxRCW is featuring experts in the areas of microbiology, programming, sociology, social enterprises and many more. Be the first in your network to hear about the latest development in design. Be inspired by creative ideas and talented minds living amongst us.

While TED back in march was $8000 a person, you can attend this local TEDx for only $50 a person if you apply the following promo code 'bbtyvr' (without the apostrophes).

You can get your tickets at https://bitly.com/TEDxRCWTix

(NOTE that YOU HAVE TO GET YOUR TICKETS FROM EVENTBRITE TO ENSURE ADMISSION)

<b style="font-size : 16px">About TEDx, x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
