I have asked them if we could use the $15 towards rentals and they said that is fine. There really isn't much to learn besides balancing which is hard to teach.

For those that missed out on the groupon deal, you can still attend. Rentals are about $20/hour which includes a life jacket and (optional) wet suite.

For those that are not familiar with the sport, stand-up paddling entails standing on a long board and propelling yourself with an elongated canoe paddle. An effective method for improving core strength and balance. Stand-up paddling, or "surf-noeing" if you will, has recently become a popular sport in the California surfing community, for both experienced surfers and casual water-sport pursuers alike. A two-hour trip across the still waters at Jericho Beach provides a taste for this smooth, Zen-like workout, plus stunning views of the Vancouver shoreline. On-site amenities include showers, change rooms, and lockers.

WHAT TO BRING:

- Change of clothes

- Towel to dry off

WHAT TO WEAR:

- Weather appropriate, comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting wet in. eg. t-shirt, shorts, etc.

- Bring water shoes or neoprene booties if you have them. If not, you can go bare feet.
