Discovery of Gravitational Waves: A new window on the Universe, by Ioannis Kamaretsos

In view of the recent first direct detection of Gravitational Waves (GWs) originating from a system of two colliding black holes, I would like to present a few points on the nature of GWs, as well as on their huge impact in understanding certain astrophysical processes.
