Hello everyone!

I think we should celebrate! We are now 50 people in this group and this makes me super happy.

What could be better for a group of stargazers than to go out and point our biological and artificial eyes to the night sky?

We are planning two nights out, this weekend and next weekend. The forecasts for this weekend are ok, but not super exceptional, therefore we won't go too far in order not to risk too much. The forecasts for next weekend instead seem very good, and we will give another try to the darkest spot available around, the DarkSky reserve in Havelland.

So, let's start with the details about this week's event.

(Friday 25th -> not anymore) Saturday 26th we will go to Teufelsberg (https://goo.gl/maps/1eGKb) that is a hill not too far away from here. We would like to go there early, let's say start moving around 19.30, set up the instruments when there is still light and then enjoy the sunset. There will be a bit of light pollution for sure, but we can observe planets, some other bright objects, get to know each other, learn how to operate the instruments and generally have fun. It is not far, 30 min by car from the city center, so it shouldn't be a problem for those who wants to leave earlier or just want to have a quick look. You can also decide to join us only when the sky is darker.

As usual, this is a preliminary message to get your attention and let you know that we are planning to go (get ready!) but the last word belongs as always to the weather. Finger crossed!
