This month's meetup will give room for two talks, from Philip Skinner and Ron van der Molen!  

Genetic Algorithms

Your genetic profile effect everybody in the room, it determines how tall you are, what colour your hair and eyes are and your gender. 

The amazing thing is that there is a difference between my and your genetic profiles, and yet they add up to the same answer - we are human beings. 

Genetic algorithms allow us to calculate different answers to the same question, giving us a unique diversity in solving problems and allowing us to find the best answer to a question.

I will give an overview of genetic algorithms, including: 

1. How to create a gene pool 
2. Mutation and crossover rates
3. Fitness for purpose calculations 

For the finale we will look at a festive genetic algorithm, which will be made available via github.

Symfony 2: Extending the power to the CLI

Symfony 2 provides us with the tools to build awesome web applications. It also enables us to use the CLI of Symfony 2 to build some very useful and powerful tools. 

In this talk we dive into the world of Symfony 2 as a tool for automation and integration!
