This month, we're crossing the river for the first time to host our meetup at Zuidplein Rotterdam. We're hosted by SAA Verzekeringen:
Samenwerkende Assurantie Adviseurs, abbreviated SAA, is an allround and leading player in the insurance market. SAA has multiple offices in the Netherlands, with the head office in Rotterdam. Managing over[masked] policies, the development teams work on continous iteration of the front-end and back-end systems using frameworks like Symfony and tools like Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, Redis and MongoDB.
Tonight's talk is by Deniz Zoeteman, who works at SAA and has been working with Kubernetes for a while now:
As developers we often want to use the latest software and be able to deploy as quickly as possible. Both of these are often not reasonable to accomplish with traditional infrastructure, as it can cost a lot of time, with or without an ops team. How can we make the move to a more fast-paced environment, where we can spend more time on features, and less time on ops? In this talk I will give you insights into our journey to Kubernetes, the orchestration platform for containers. I hope to give you a good case study and tips for moving to Kubernetes, or making any big platform change in general.
Sound interesting? See you on the 13th!
