There we go, the first meetup of 2018! Let's make 2018 a year full of interesting experiences. At 010PHP, we'll be trying, as we do every year, to make our meetups monthly occurrences that are both useful and fun, so you have two very good excuses to bring your friends, as well as your co-workers. Don't have any new year's resolutions yet? Make it your mission to get all your fellow PHP developers to at least one meetup!

This month, we'll be jumping head first into PHP Core development, as that is the subject of Arnout Boks's talk:

While PHP’s open source community is thriving, only a relatively small number of PHP developers contribute to the number one tool they use on a daily basis: PHP itself. Although it may seem daunting to help out on a project written in C, requiring compilation and linking, getting started is actually pretty easy. In this talk I would like to share my own recent experiences of beginning to contribute to PHP itself. We will cover some practical tips, workflows and resources, so you can start giving back to your programming language straight away!

Arnout is a longtime 010PHP member who has already spoken at PHP conferences, but will be doing his first 010PHP talk this month. Come listen to him!

Our location is the same as last month: RedKiwi, the full service Digital Agency who have hosted us a couple of times before. Did you know they serve over 400 customers while there's only 40 people working there? You did? Oh, it was in last month's description? Ah, so you read that. Nice. 19:00 - 19:30 - Doors open.
19:30 - 19:45 - A word from our organizers / location sponsor
19:45 - 20:30 - Getting started with PHP core development
20:30 - ? - Round up and start of Social!

There are no comments. Be the first one!
